Scientists in Uzbekistan Develop Innovative Biodegradable Polymer Technology

Updated: Mar 21

Researchers at the Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan have developed a new technology for producing eco-friendly polymer materials.
Using innovative approaches, they have developed biodegradable compounds that enable the production of sustainable polymer films and packaging materials. This yields a specialised biodegradable additive that can be integrated into polyofelins to create environmentally friendly products such as packaging bags, films, and disposable containers.
Plastic products enhanced with this additives retain high mechanical stregnth while being fully biodegradable. These products pose no risk to human health and have no harmful effects on soil quality or fertility during decomposition.
